Welcome to our Getting Here page—your first step toward an unforgettable Baja experience at 44 Palms. Whether you’re flying into Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) or La Paz International Airport (LAP), the journey to our retreat is part of the adventure. We’ve put together clear, straightforward directions to help you navigate the scenic highways and charming dirt roads that lead straight to our little slice of paradise, nestled between the Pacific, Todos Santos, and Cerritos.

At 44 Palms, we believe that the path to relaxation should be as enjoyable as your stay. Our detailed directions blend modern convenience with the authentic, off-the-beaten-path vibe that makes Baja so special. So buckle up, enjoy the ride, and get ready to unplug, unwind, and immerse yourself in the local culture—the 44 Palms way.

Directions from the Los Cabos Airport (SJD)

The Flight
There are plenty of direct, non-stop flights into Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) in San José del Cabo. With 14 airlines flying from over 40 destinations, your journey to Baja’s hidden gem is off to a smooth start.

Touchdown
After landing, plan on about an hour to deplane, pass through immigration and customs, and grab your luggage. As you exit the terminal, you’ll notice a bustling hallway filled with timeshare pitches—simply keep walking and offer a friendly “Hola, no gracias!” Once you clear that area, you’ll reach the taxi and rental car shuttle zone. We recommend renting a car for your stay at 44 Palms, as taxis and shuttles can add up, and you’ll want your own wheels to explore the local scene in El Pescadero.

The Drive

After landing at SJD and picking up your rental car, hit Highway 19 heading north. About 45 minutes into your drive, you’ll approach the outskirts of El Pescadero—just past Cerritos Beach. Look for clear signage indicating a left turn onto Degollado. When you spot it, turn left onto this unpaved, bumpy road and proceed slowly to keep the dust down for our local neighbors and farmers.

Continue along Degollado for roughly one mile. You’ll notice several landmarks along the way: “El Perdido Desert Resort” on your left, “Besos de Mezcal” on your right, and “Pueblo Pescadero” further along on the left. At about 1.1 miles, take the final right and drive straight for another half mile. You’ll pass the entrance to Rancho Pescadero and a long metal wall climbing a small hill. Although you may see a sign on a power pole for “Minisuper Munchies” urging a left turn, continue straight for another hundred feet before bearing right. Soon enough, you’ll see the gate marking the entrance to 44 Palms—your Baja retreat awaits!

Directions from the La Paz Airport (LAP)

The Flight
La Paz International Airport (LAP) is a fantastic gateway to Baja California Sur, offering a range of direct and connecting flights. With its modern facilities and friendly atmosphere, LAP sets the tone for an easygoing arrival into our vibrant region.

Touchdown
Once you land at LAP, allow yourself about an hour to disembark, clear immigration and customs, and collect your luggage. As you make your way out, you might pass through a corridor full of enthusiastic sales pitches—simply smile and say “No, gracias” as you head toward the exit where taxis and rental car services await. For the ultimate freedom during your stay at 44 Palms, we strongly recommend renting a car.

The Drive
Once you’ve arrived at LAP and collected your rental car, set off by merging onto Highway 1 northwest until you join Highway 19 toward Todos Santos. Approximately 45 minutes down Highway 19, you’ll start to see the outskirts of El Pescadero, just beyond Cerritos Beach. Look for signage directing you to Degollado, and when you see it, take a left onto this unpaved dirt road. Travel slowly along this stretch to avoid kicking up too much dust for the local community.

After about one mile on Degollado, you’ll pass several key landmarks—“El Perdido Desert Resort” on the left, “Besos de Mezcal” on the right, and then “Pueblo Pescadero” on the left. At roughly 1.1 miles, take the final right and continue for another half mile, passing the entrance to Rancho Pescadero and a distinctive metal wall on a small hill. Although a power pole might display a sign for “Minisuper Munchies” suggesting a left turn, keep going straight for about another hundred feet before bearing right. Shortly thereafter, the gate to 44 Palms will come into view, marking your arrival at your Baja haven. Welcome to 44 Palms!
